What to do if you Break a Tooth

Breaking a tooth might be scary and the first thing you do will probably be to panic. It’s never going to be a nice feeling – and it could well hurt a lot as well, if you break the tooth close to a nerve.

It’s important that you know what to do, even if you are panicking at first. The main thing is to look at how bad the damage is. If the tooth is loose and you are worried about losing it, then you must see a dentist as quickly as possible. They will be able to either stabilise the tooth, perform surgery if needed, or remove it if this is going to be the best thing for you. If this is the case, they can then talk to you about your cosmetic dentistry options.

If the tooth isn’t too badly broken, you will need to see a dentist, but not quite as urgently.
