If you are trying to have a baby, then there are some things you can do to help with your fertility. Much of it is common sense – you look after your body, and it is going to function as well as possible. Here are some general tips to follow:

  • Eat a balanced diet. Make sure you include all major food groups, and if you are lacking in nutrients, take a supplementary vitamin tablet.
  • Lose weight. If you are overweight, this can make you less likely to fall pregnant. Eating a balanced diet will help, and build exercise into your day as well.
  • Try to reduce stress levels. Take plenty of time out to relax – if you do become pregnant, this will also be better for the health of your unborn baby.
  • Drink less alcohol. You don’t have to become teetotal, but if you are drinking less alcohol, you are going to be healthier and may find it easier to conceive.
